Alexandra Sipsis and Karma Alkilani Zaid critically analyzed the condominium interior in the film Soylent Green. Their project looks at domestic suppression and women as objects (furniture). Specifically, the team looked at gendered narratives of who controls the interiors and who inhabits them (dominance/suppression). Attention was drawn to the living room interior, the furniture, and with the condominium’s housekeeper, Sheryl. A series of collaged photographs have been created showcasing feminist/feminine body parts and furniture.
