The painting 'The Last Saturday' by Yehuda Pen tells a story that speaks to the deepest parts of our soul. Poignantly capturing the final moments between a loving couple, the emotions it evokes are profound.

In this model, the figures sit on a gondola. The woman, who is at the head of the boat, travels towards death, while her husband remains behind. The slight but significant fissure in the gondola represents the deep pain of separation and the irreparable loss that comes with death.T

he model also conveys the idea that the journey between life and death is not a solitary one. The chorus of lights that surround the couple represents the presence of both the living and departed souls of loved ones. This is a powerful reminder that even in death, we are not alone and that the love and memories of those we have lost continue to live on.
