This project conceptualizes uncanniness by relating to the idea of moving homes and the transition from an intimate home to a new home that is uncanny. The homes are represented as packaging boxes, illustrating the old home, which then closes and reopens into the newly moved home. As a new home is uncanny, the objects scattered within the space and the placement of the figure outside suggest Corbusier’s style of inducing the inhabitant to perceive themself as a visitor, and substituted with traces of paraphernalia. Sara Ahmed’s view on the experience of uncanniness through the orientation of objects is also exhibited in the triptych, as all the objects in the home are disoriented and unfamiliar with the new space, which sets the thought of uncanniness.
