Creating an emotive object based on Rembrandt van Rijn's, The Storm on the Sea of Galilee. It is a biblical painting where fourteen men go out to sea and are hit by a violent storm. In their panic, they beg a sleeping Jesus, who sits on the boat, to calm the storm, and he reluctantly responds to their pleas out of pity; as he does, the skies begin to clear, and the sun starts to shine through, subduing the storm. The central theme of this painting is man vs. nature. For my object, I wanted to create this feeling of man vs nature through the struggle and tension the men faced against the strong winds and waters within the storm.
