This project intervenes in Toronto’s PATH system under Roy Thompson Hall, where nature reveals it’s monumentality from below the concrete city. It questions how we frame and create landscapes that heighten and humble power relations by evoking a return to what makes us human; our sensory relationship to ground and it’s  constituents. The procession through 4 material features areas of stone, gravel, sand and water increases in sensory stimuli, lightness and refinement of materials towards intangible nature, causing a social ripple of humbleness and challenging western orientations to social order using eastern design traditions of the Wabi.
