Spaces we wear is a speculation into the nature of our bodies and how we see the fabric of the world. By reinterpreting what it means to be structure and interior, the project aims to defamiliarize traditional materials of built spaces through the lens of clothing.
Clothes are the facades of humans and become the material structure that envelopes us. They prescribe play and beg for participation, becoming the medium for the game of fashion. Fashion is the game of reinvention, where the only rule is to break the rule of the game. Thus, fashion is inherently dimensional and spatial. The project explores the tension between the two disciplines through their shared game logic. It employs the medium of digital collage, another gamic illusion of two dimensions creating three dimensional space. The collage assembles materials of interior and architectural space that is meaningful to me- spaces I have ‘worn’.
