Creating an interior space into a tiny model is nearly impossible. You must capture every nuance, every slight ruffle of a fabric; every imperfection on a brick; because without these perfect imperfections, an interior is not truly an interior. With my model, I wanted to capture the feeling and atmosphere of the most intimate space I have in my life here in Toronto; my own room. Living away from family, and being in a city on my own hasn’t been the most glamorous uphill climb I’ve experienced, but the space I’ve called home for the past 8 months has made this journey much easier. My white bedsheets, the flowers sitting on my bedside table, and the collaged concrete wall of prints; everything in my room has become much a part of me and my sanctuary as much as they are just mundane objects seen and touched on a daily basis.
