
A modern interpretation of Orpheus and Eurydice Set in 2100, projected sea levels have risen due to climate neglect. Which has resulted in wars across nations fighting for who will own land above sea level. Communities are divided by the poor, who struggle for food due to a lack of farming and the rich, who are worried they will not own enough land to remain in their set lifestyles. The lack of resources creates a dynamic in which the wealthy exploit the poor. The social pressure has pushed the military to claim as much land as possible for the elite. Our protagonist, Orpheus, is forced to go to war. As he is at war on behave of the elite, he finds out that his wife, Eurydice, has passed due to starvation; overcome with frustration, he leaves his platoon to find Eurydice in the underworld. This is where our scene begins.
