My concept for the set design of Orpheus & Eurydice Act II Scene I. The original script is about furies and ghosts trying to deny Orfeo’s passage to the underworld. His lament softens and placates them. He is eventually allowed to pass through to the Elysian Fields. I am trying to create a haunting and otherworldly atmosphere that reflects the dramatic and dangerous underworld space. The set will consist of a dark, infinite Space with metallic mechanism structures as the bridge to the underworld, creating an eerie and surreal backdrop for the scene. Overall, my goal is to create a visually stunning and immersive environment that heightens the drama and emotion of the scene.
