The concept of unbuilding and building explores the dynamic relationship between deconstruction and construction in the built environment. It acknowledges that the process of creating something new often requires the removal or alteration of existing structures, and that these actions can have a profound impact on the surrounding community and environment. I found that this perspective can relate back to the cycle of aging. In order to fully understand this idea, we must first start in the womb. Our mother’s build us starting from a clump of cells. Here is where our state of building starts. Once born, the process of aging starts to take a toll on us. As fast as our bodies builds itself, it starts to unbuild. As we age, our bones get fragile and multiple aspects of our bodies start to give away to the rigorous cycle of life. The same can be applied to any living thing… such as in my model, the life cycle of a plant.
