What if a ceiling and fan were one system? What would that look like? How would it function? Within this new design, the need to separate fixtures is eliminated. This 6x6x4 meter (20x20x13ft.) machine consists of a highly intricate lofted ceiling with four perforated legs. Moving away from today’s typical whole-home electronic air cleaners and room-based portable models, this hybrid system will not just act as a traditional air ventilator but also as an air purifier. The perforated walls, which also provide seating, are the vacuum that inhales and captures your home’s airborne pollutants allowing for cleaner air to circulate back into your space. In addition, with integrated lighting and designated colour projections, this system will also be able to communicate to the homeowner the current state of their home’s air quality, signaling to them if it is safe to remain indoors.
