Located at the most southerly point of the Maltese Archipelago, Filfla is a small, uninhabited isle five kilometers south of Malta. After being used as a bombing practice site by the naval forces, the plateau-like surface has changed in size as the fallen boulders that surround it were once as high as the mainland. This space seeks to bring these fallen boulders back to life. By taking inspiration from isolation monasteries around the world, the glass "boulder"-like shapes house the visitors on this island of solitude. It is a chance for a unique experience that allows visitors to be as isolated as possible from the world yet still enjoy some of the world's commodities. Visitors' will also have access to a common area that not only serves as a midpoint inside of the island, but also connects the glass path with the staircase that leads to the ground.
