This emotive object attempts to capture the layers and atmospheric perspective presented in Hasui Kawase's Tennoji Temple in Osaka. The fading into the background of the model utilizes light within the frosted glass to replicate the snowy atmospheric perspective. The forms of the layered planes are drawn from the composition of the woodblock print, referencing the rooflines within. The figure in the print is facing away from the viewers, immersing them within the scenery to be in awe and isolation with them. To achieve this, the figure in the model is reduced to a plane, as if they were integrated with the scenery. The planes rest on the base without being attached, meaning that they aren't grounded in the same sense that woodblock prints are not exactly the same. The colour can be switched when printing and new layers added to achieve different versions of the same piece.
