Our primary design goal was to create a welcoming and accessible space for Dimitra that incorporates nature, art, and community. To achieve this, we made several modifications to the house, including the installation of a ramp, the addition of a door to the kitchen, an open floor plan for better accessibility, and the conversion of the washroom next to her bedroom into an accessible ensuite with a spacious shower. We also focused on cultivating a strong sense of community through art and nature. The ground floor of the house features a communal area for artists to collaborate and create art. The space integrates with nature, offering outdoor painting areas and large double doors that provide easy access to the natural surroundings. Additionally, we created several outdoor "rooms" where people can unwind, explore, and connect with each other. The greenhouse is also a particular highlight, offering Dimitra a peaceful oasis to engage with nature.
