Works in progress displayed to distract the weary-eyed traveler: Toronto's Union Station bustles with commuters around the clock. Frequent travelers who are focused on getting from place to place pass through the space with their heads down, disregarding the architecture. In a collaborative effort with Akin Collective, Captivate aims to slow commuters' frenzied pace and promote a secondary, slower programming. Displaying studio spaces in high movement areas encourages engagement in a transitional space. Artists in the space can display their completed and in-progress work in high visibility spaces and enjoy artist-only private spaces and circulation behind the scenes.
