Through my research and experimentation with artificial intelligence programs such as ChatGPT and Midjourney, I sought to rapidly explore the possibilities of each hybrid pairing without committing to a specific concept. While these programs could not resolve particular details, they provided valuable insight into each hybrid system's potential behaviors and materiality.
The hybrid system I developed focuses on combining seating + wall. It consists of two primary elements: a housing unit and modules that can be connected infinitely via hinges. Initially developed as a simple triangular grid, it was later transformed into a herringbone tessellation. When not in use as seating, the modules are designed to fit seamlessly into the housing unit. The housing unit itself behaves as a blanket-like structure that could be either contained as a single shelving unit or expanded upwards onto a ceiling.
